Born in Italy Simon Bernardini appeared as conertmaster at the Orchestre National de Lyon, Berliner Philharmoniker, Orchestra del Teatro e Filarmonica della Scala in Milan and the Juillard Orchestra in New York, and has been, since the 2007/08 season, regularly invited for the same position by the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunk in Munich. Bisedes that he regularly appears with the Berliner Philharmoniker, Wiener Philharmoniker and Chamber Orchestra of Europe.
As a chamber musician and soloist he has performed worldwide famous Festivals and made his debut in concert halls as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and Bargemusic in New York, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Berlin Philharmonic Hall and Konzerthaus, as well as the Teatro alla Scala in Milan.
For his recordings he received in France the Diapason d’Or de l’année 2007.
Simon Bernardini studied conducting at the Conservatoire de Paris and took part in the conducting masterclasses of Bernard Haitink at the Luzerner Musikhochschule. He made his debut in 1999 in Paris at the Festival Musical d’Automne de Jeunes Interprètes, and was immediately reinvited.Since then he conducted at the Santander Festival, at the Théâtre de Monte-Carlo, at the Théâtre de Fontainebleau, the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg, the Orquestra de Menorca, during five seasons theOrchestre OstinatO, orchestra in residence at the Opéra comique de Paris, in three seasons the Musikene Orchestra of the Basque Country, and three programs during two seasons at the Orchestra Sinfonica Giovanile del Piemonte, one of those was audio and video recorded live from the Auditorium Lingotto in Turin.
At the Festival Opera Barga in 2006 the complete Mozart piano concertos were performed under his conducting, in 2009 Cimarosa's Opera Il matrimonio segreto and in 2010 Donizzetti's Opera L'Ajo nell'imbarazzo.
In April 2008 he conducted his colleagues of the Berliner Philharmoniker in a Familienkonzert in the Großen Saal der Berliner Philharmonie, in Autumn 2009 he conducted them again in Schoenberg’s Pierrot lunaire at the Usedomer Musikfestival.
Simon Bernardini is now professor at the Musikene school in the Basque Country and has tought in several Fetsival and schools like the Esatern Music Festival (USA), Euroasia Music Festival in Seoul, Académie européenne de musique d'Aix en Provenceand Fondazione Scuola di Musica di Fiesole. Since 2005 he is tutor at the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie and since 2011 he is invited to coach the Joven Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León.
